Unfortunately, this is the risk you take with dog parks. Dogs’ arousal levels are high and there is a fine line between arousal and aggression. It can be a split second where things can go pear shaped. Dog parks can be like nightclubs!
If there is a scuffle, if it is minor, it can often resolve itself. However, we do not recommend letting dogs ‘sort it out’. This can be detrimental to yours and the other dogs behaviour.
If you can, safely contain your dog by putting them on lead, take them away and outside the dog park. Arousal levels can continue to be high after such events, so the chances another scuffle happens again is high.
