Cat With Dirty Teeth

I think my cat has dirty teeth and her breath is also a little smelly. Is there anything I can do to help make it better?

There are a number of products available to help look after your cat’s dental health. There are special toothbrushes and toothpastes, like the Prozym RF2 Toothpaste Kit, that have been designed for pets and can help remove tartar, plaque and freshen breath. There are also supplements, like Aquadent or PlaqueOff For Cats, that can be added to your cat’s water or food which are specially formulated to improve and maintain good oral health. Dental treats like Feline Greenies are an easy way to improve your cat’s dental health and reduce tartar.

Your cat may need to see a veterinarian to assess her dental health as she might require a some dental work, tooth scaling/cleaning, antibiotics or tooth removal.

It is important to not overlook your pet’s dental health as early intervention and treatment is always best. With regular veterinary checkups and at home dental care serious dental issues can be avoided and/or managed.
